Poynette Area Public Library

On behalf of the Poynette Library staff and Library Board members, I’d like to thank our Friends of the Poynette Area Public Library. The Friends of the Library are an active group who support the library in numerous ways.  On an annual basis, the friends support our children’s programs by purchasing books for our baby book program, donating to our summer reading program, renting the bouncy house for the winter carnival and purchasing stuffed reading buddies for local 4K students. The group helps to sponsor authors and provide refreshments for our events. Most recently, they funded a project to create storage for the Silent Auction items for the Friends as well as storage for the Library. Check out our adult nonfiction books as the collection has been updated thanks to the generous $3,000 donation from the Friends.

This wonderful group is always looking for new members or volunteers. They currently meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:00pm. If you are interested in joining the Friends, but can’t make the meetings, no worries – you can still be a member! They add new members to their mailing list so you can stay updated on their activities and accomplishments. It is also not necessary to be a member of the Friends to volunteer to help with their fundraisers.

Our Friends of the Library have spent many hours preparing beautiful baskets for the Silent Auction. There are currently 107 items to bid on and something for everyone. If you are looking for a gift or a little something for yourself, consider joining in the fun and get your bids in by December 8 at 12:45pm. The Poynette Library will be highlighting some of the auction items on Facebook so be sure to check in or consider following our page. The Friends also will be having a Holiday Sweets and Treats Sale on Thursday, December 13 and Friday December 14 while they last.

For information on how to get involved at the Library, contact us at 608-635-7577, visit our website at, follow us on Facebook, or sign up for our email list of events. Please visit us at our downtown location at 118 N. Main Street in Poynette.

Happy Holidays
