LIBRARY NEWS
Jodi Bailey was notified that Poynette Library was chosen to receive a $3,000 American Library Association (ALA) grant to be used to enhance the outdoor area behind the library.  More details will be forthcoming later in April when an official ALA announcement is made.  High Country Electric completed installation of the LED replacement bulbs in the main library.  The electrician also added a data port in the Children's area (for our "card catalog" computer).  The Strategic Plan Committee met to assist Jodi in preparing a survey that began April 1.  Katy created a QR code link to the survey.  We will continue to collect data through May 15.  There were 21 Curbside pick-up appointments scheduled by patrons from March 1-31.

2021 PROGRAMS
Storytime on the Go and the Story Windows programs continued in March.  Katy Hanousek provided support to patrons by frequently updating and monitoring the library's website and FaceBook page.  We celebrated Dr. Seuss/Read Across America Day on March 2nd.  We celebrated Aldo Leopold Week March 8-12 & participated in a showing of the film "Green Fire" with a follow-up virtual panel discussion.  On March 20th we participated in a virtual program in collaboration with the Columbia County Master Gardeners called "Let's Get Green & Growing 2021."  Katy created STEAM Take & Make kits for 42 children.  Thanks to the Friends of the Library for purchasing the books for our STEAM kits.
