LIRARY NEWS              
The Summer Reading Program wrapped up in early August with a total of 267 reading participants of all ages. Deb Haefner has been working with staff to price out an office remodel project to make the space more organized and allow staff to work more efficiently. Columbia County Directors are working with the Columbia County Library Board to prepare our presentation to the Columbia County Finance Committee for September. The Poynette Area Public Library will be closed on Saturday, August 31 through Monday, September 2 for carpet cleaning.

The Summer Reading Program Finale was a hit as Randy Peterson brought in 60 people for his musical performance. The Poynette Schools Reading Program wraps up on August 15. Katy is currently planning for fall programming. Upcoming Events: Movie at the Library on 8/14 at 1:30pm; Saturday Story Time on 8/17 at 10:30 am; Dandelion Embroidered Puff Craft on 8/27 at 6:00pm.

CONTINUING EDUCATION/ MEETINGS        
The Columbia County Directors and Columbia County Library Board met on July 19 at a joint meeting to discuss the goals for 2020 for the Columbia County Libraries as well as the 2020 budget. Lindsey Ganz attended the delivery meeting at SCLS and participated in discussion about possibly creating a Tote Use Policy for system member libraries. Columbia County Directors met for the third training session on the topic of Community Engagement. Participants of this training will be receiving grant money to use to help cover costs of the training or to implement ideas learned at the training. The budget committee met on August 6. Lindsey attended the Friends of the Library meeting.
