LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT
14-Feb-17

Library News
Thanks to the Town of Arlington for the $500 donation to the library. The fifth grade classes visited the library on January 31 and February 1 to pick up materials for their history projects. The Poynette Area Public Library closed on January 16 and 17 due to the School District of Poynette closing because of icy road conditions. Lindsey Ganz submitted an application for the Columbia County Advocate of the Year Award. Ganz also submitted the Annual Report to SCLS for review and was given the go ahead to bring it to the library board. Ganz applied for a DPI scholarship for the “Coding Together, Learning Together” course offered by UW-Madison iSchool Continuing Education Services made possible by a grant. It was confirmed that author, Maddy Hunter will be visiting Poynette on April 24th for an Author Talk in conjunction with the Friends meeting. The Roof was leaking in two places and was addressed by the Village. The problems occurred from ice buildup on the roof. The women's toilet was also fixed since it was leaking.
