LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT

LIBRARY NEWS
The Library closed at noon on Dec. 23 and remained closed Dec. 24 & 25 following the Village's observance of the Christmas holiday. Santa and Mrs. Claus saw an all-time high attendance of 133 children/family members at the Library on Friday, Dec. 17th (from 5:00 - 6:30 PM). The Friends of the Poynette Library provided a free book to each child in attendance. Thank you to our wonderful Public Works Department who has done an outstanding job of keeping the Library's exterior cleared of snow and sidewalks salted for patron safety. Jodi Bailey finalized the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan with the Committee and prepared flyers for distribution. Jodi completed her Wisc. DPI Grade 2 Public Library Director Certification in December.

Katy Hanousek hosted a record-setting Santa & Mrs. Claus event this year! Katy and Jodi also collaborated with The Green Stem to assist with their "Letters to Santa" community project.  Two volunteers from the Friends of the Poynette Library delivered books to support our Pioneer Place community outreach. Katy assisted patrons by frequently updating and monitoring the library's website and Facebook page. Kelly Anderson hosted a Technology Q&A session, a Writers Group meeting, Book Clubs and other Adult programs. There was one curbside pick-up appointment in December. The Winter Reading Program began Dec. 23rd and ends Jan. 31st.
