LIBRARY NEWS
The Library's Summer Reading Program began June 15th and runs through July 31st.  Katy Hanousek attended training, then designed and implemented "Beanstack," our virtual summer reading program.  The Poynette Chamber of Commerce made a generous donation to support our Summer Reading Program again this year.  The library building re-opened to the public on June 11th.  Curbside Service continued to be popular with patrons, however, many were thankful to be able to come into the building to read newspapers, use computers and browse for materials.  There were 165 Curbside Pick-up appointments scheduled by patrons from 06/01 to 06/30.  Jodi is awaiting further discussion with Mr. Mueller & the Library Board regarding LED replacement lighting.  Jodi would like begin by ordering two fixtures (recommended by General Engineering) to replace the Office lights.  SCLS Delivery has increased to two deliveries of patron holds per week.  Jodi's collaborating with SCLS to order a self-check machine that will be partially covered by a DPI Cares Act grant.   Jodi is also working with the Village Administrator on additional grant funding.

CONTINUING EDUCATION/ JUNE MEETINGS
Jodi attended a "Problem Behaviors in the Library" training and several virtual All-Director meetings regarding re-opening.  Jodi also assisted patrons with Curbside Service throughout the week, as needed.  All staff worked in staggered shifts, helping patrons in the library and with Curbside Service.  In addition, Katy provided extra support to patrons by updating the library's website, FaceBook page & working on programming.  Jodi began taking an on-line Overdrive Support course which runs from June 29 through July 31.  Jodi attended several virtual meetings regarding a self-check machine that SCLS has been researching since COVID-19 closed libraries in March.  SCLS applied for a DPI Cares Act grant on Poynette's behalf to assist with the purchase.  Jodi is also working with the Village of Poynette on a "Routes to Recovery: Local Government Aid" grant to cover our COVID-19 related expenses.
