LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT
8-Nov-16

Library News
We are excited to announce that we have 19 book reviewers, 9 boys and 10 girls, for our Teen Book Review Program. This year, Katy Hanousek opened the program up to all of the high schoolers as last year we started the program up with a pilot group. Lindsey Ganz attended the AA Cafes Book Talk at the Poynette High School on October 27 and gave library card applications to Leah Preiss and students. Steve Jackson and The rep from Mohawk looked at the carpet and agreed that there seemed to be a flaw on the main seem. The Mohawk Rep is filing a claim and the plan is to fix it with a saddle seam repair. If this repair does not meet our standards, then we would have to arrange another meeting with the Rep. Jackson has discussed extending his warranty on the new seam. We are currently accepting donations for the upcoming Silent Auction.

Programs
Toddler Time, Elementary Book Club, Middle School Book Club, and our Teen Book Reviewers Program are underway. We are very pleased with the interest and participation in these programs. Katy Hanousek has creative ideas and a great rapport with the families, teens, and children.  Many families visited the library for Halloween to pick up a treat, bookmarks, books, a Halloween craft, and other various items.  Upcoming events: Nov 11: Origami Day. Nov 16-Dec 2: Silent Auction. Nov 17: Adult Craft, IRIS Folded Cards - Hedgehogs. Nov 23 @ 1:30: Finding Dory Movie. Dec. 29: Family Read Event: The BFG Book, Contest, and Movie.
