Library News              
The carpet in the library was cleaned over the holiday weekend. Blake of Carpet Raiders did an excellent job. Deb Haefner visited our library to discuss furniture and pattern options that would work well in our library. She quoted us for quality furniture at UW pricing with a company that gives excellent customer service to SCLS libraries. Bob Agnew and Becky Schutz visited the library to discuss electrical and the new shades to be installed in the library. The OCI Yearbook Project has reached out to us with information about their free grant program to consider digitizing yearbooks. Lindsey presented a history of the Poynette Area Public Library at the nutrition site on September 6th. Jodi and Lindsey visited six different libraries to get ideas for an outdoor space, organization of information, signage and furniture.

Programs                
The Great Solar Eclipse was an informative and entertaining program for all ages. There were 79 people in attendance and we gave away 150 free solar eclipse glasses to our patrons. The summer reading program had a total of 328 people involved. Our toddlers read/listened for 36,345 minutes, elementary students read for 63,698 minutes, our teens read 93,959 pages and adults read 83,479 pages. Way to go Poynette Readers!  Upcoming Events: Sept 14: 4th and 5th Grade Book Club; Sept 18: Middle School Action Lynks; Sept. 19: Toddler Time; Sept. 21: Craft- Birch Tree Canvas Painting; Sept. 26th Adult Book Club: Garden Spells at Lapacek's Orchard at 4pm.

Continuing Education/ Meetings          
Lindsey Ganz met with administrator, Martin Shanks on August 11 and 23 to discuss library happenings and the budget. Ganz met with Diane Lemke at Pioneer Place to work on coordinating a Packer Program to be held at Pioneer Place. The budget committee met on August 29th to put together a preliminary budget for 2018. Lindsey also met with Leah Preiss and Kaitlyn Heintz to discuss how the library can support the Literacy Arts Council for this upcoming school year. Ganz attended the Columbia County Director's meeting on September 8th.
