Library Lynx

January 23, 2015

We want to thank our patrons who joined in the fun and participated in our first ever Winter Reading Program!  Our toddlers and elementary students added a sticker to the “Frosty Friends Poster” every time they completed a line on their Bingo card.  Next time you are in the library, take a moment to admire the progress of their hard work!  Our middle school, high school, and adults participated in the program as our “Snowy Scholars”.  They completed reading requirements and activities to earn coupons from the BP Amoco for coffee or hot chocolate. Thank you BP Amoco of Poynette and Arlington for the wonderful donation!

The library is pleased to offer new magazine titles available online for free!  To check out the magazines, click on Flipster under databases on the website.  We also have a link to Flipster available on the Poynette website. If you need more help, please call or stop in.

We are excited to announce the Poynette Area Public Library will be hosting a FREE Winter Carnival at the Poynette Village Hall.  This carnival will be a blast with a bouncy house and slide, fun games to play, face painting, and other activities.  We are currently looking for volunteers ages 12 and up to assist with set up, running games, and clean up.  Volunteer sign-up sheets are at the front desk.

Our Spring Toddler Time is underway and will continue on Tuesdays at 10:30 am until mid-May.  Please join us for stories, activities, songs, and crafts!

Poynette Elementary School students in fourth and fifth grade are participating in Battle of the Books!  The Poynette Area Public Library is supporting the elementary school program and has copies of these books available on display.  The Rascal and Raspberry Book Club has started. Students are encouraged to participate.  Details are on our website and available at the front desk.  Contact us if you would like to sign up!

The Middle School Action Lynx program has exciting new activities.  Please join us after school on Mondays at 3:00 pm.  Students will gain new experiences by volunteering at the Food Pantry, learning new cooking skills, and creating fun projects!

Our Adult Traveling Book Club will be starting up again this spring.  Stay tuned for more details to come!  We will be having a “paint it at the library” night on March 12th at 6:00 pm for adults.  If interested, check out the sample painting and sign up at the front desk.  This program is free of charge but space is limited, so don’t delay!

Check out our website at, like our Facebook page, or sign up for our email list, or give us a call at 608-635-7577 for information about upcoming activities.  We hope to see you at the Poynette library at 118 N. Main Street.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
