An Arrow to the Moon by Emily X.R. Pan twists life with myth to create a gripping story about life and love. In Fairbridge, young Luna Chang is a perfect student and daughter. Her future is bright, but there’s one problem. She has realized that she has no path she’s passionate about. Meanwhile, Hunter Yee lives a life of secrecy. His family, consisting of his younger brother and parents, have a dark secret from their past that haunts them. When Hunter transfers schools, he and Luna meet, and everything changes, regardless of their families’ hatred for each other. This book is recommended for high school and older audiences due to the material. It contains mentions of death, heartbreak, cheating, loan sharks, violence, natural disaster, and family dynamics. Those that enjoyed Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet will enjoy this story, as it follows a similar story and concepts.
