The Great Gatsby, follows Jay Gatsby, a man who orders his life around one desire, to be reunited with Daisy Buchanan, the love he lost five years earlier. Gatsby's quest leads him from poverty to wealth, into the arms of his beloved, and eventually to death. The book is written from the point of view of Nick Carraway, a Yale University graduate from the Midwest who moves to New York after World War I to pursue a career in bonds. There are also lots of supporting characters including Myrtle, Mr. Wilson, Tom and Daisy Buchanan, and Jordan Baker. This book was a fairly short read but it does require a lot of attention and analyzing. I would recommend this book to people who like books like To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Flies, and The Catcher in the Rye.
