POYNETTE AREA PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD MEETING

Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 6:00 pm

Poynette Area Public Library

 

Call to Order and Roll Call - The meeting was called to order at 6:04 PM by President Jason Koopmans. Attending the meeting were Board Members Darcy Miller, Linda Ross, Jason Koopmans, Joni DeYoung, and Meghan Visger. Board member Dave Tessmer attended virtually. Board member Jerry Pritzl was unable to attend. Library Director Jodi Bailey was also present.

Certification of Proper Notice - Yes

Guests in Attendance - None

Public Comments - None

Adoption of Agenda - A motion to adopt the agenda made by DeYoung, seconded by Miller; Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes from January 10, 2023 Meeting - A motion to adopt the January meeting minutes as presented was made by Ross, seconded by DeYoung; Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report Presented by Treasurer Linda Ross - The library checking account at Hometown Bank/Bank First has a balance of $5,098.09 as of January 31, 2023. The SCLS Foundation account has a balance of $1,778.94 as of January 31, 2023.

Current Budget Review - Director Bailey presented the budget.

Director’s Report - The South Central Library System’s new Data Specialist provided updated data reports in order to assist Director Bailey in completing the 2022 Annual Report. Director Bailey submitted a draft Annual Report to SCLS for review. It will be reviewed and approved by the Poynette Library Board of Trustees on February 14th. The final 2022 Annual Report will be submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction by the end of February. The staff attended several webinars, classes, and meetings throughout the month for planning purposes, continuing education, safety training, and community involvement.

Village of Poynette Meeting Update - DeYoung shared that the “Spring Clean Up” will be on April 22nd. Waste pick-up will be moved to Tuesdays. The Board is in the process of dissolving the old plat design and solidifying the new plat design for the new Glen Gardens subdivision. There is an election of Poynette Village Board Members in April. There are three open seats.

Friends of the Library Report - Director Bailey shared that since there was no February meeting, the Friends are compiling March meeting Agenda items. The Friends have offered to support redecorating the Adult Quiet Reading Room. More details will follow after their March meeting.

 

Business:

1. Approval of Vouchers for Library - Visger made a motion to accept the vouchers as presented, seconded by Koopmans; Motion carried.

2. Discuss/consider adopting the 2022 Annual Report - Miller made a motion to adopt the 2022 Annual Report as presented, seconded by DeYoung; Motion carried.

3. Approval to move the April Library Board meeting to Tuesday, April 18th - Director Bailey requested to move the April meeting to the 18th. The Board also decided to change the start time of future Library Board meetings to begin at 5:00 pm starting on March 14.

4. Discuss Agenda Items for the Next Meeting on March 14, 2023 - Business Agenda items 1 and 4, as well as any items that may arise in the meantime.
