This book tells the story of Kya, a young girl whose family left her at a very young age. She lives in the marshes of North Carolina and is an outcast in the town. She is known as the “Marsh Girl” and the townspeople hate her. She is glared at, looked down upon, and whispered about. So, Kya decides to stay out of the light. She stays in the marsh, alone, only getting supplies from her friend down the river. She lives this way for many years until a murder rocks her town. When the police come knocking, she does what she has done best. Run from people. This murder mystery will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time.
